Is it Possible to Regrow Hair? Ask an Expert

Men and women are losing hair faster than it is growing due to environmental factors, poor hair care practices, stress, sickness, scalp infections, and busy lifestyles. Hair experts do feel that by utilizing the appropriate treatments and promoting good hair practices, it is possible to combat the negative consequences of these factors. These suggestions can be helpful if you are going through abrupt hair loss or thinning hair.

Right diagnosis and hair loss treatment can significantly reduce the time required for maintenance procedures and unwelcome hair loss. To speed up hair development, consult a hair expert if you have observed any sudden or significant changes in your hair's length or thickness. They will be able to assist you in determining the root causes of your hair loss and treating them.

Why is My Hair Falling Out?

When a hair goes out, a process known as shrinkage occurs at the follicular level. The term "miniaturization" describes the gradual reduction of the size of the hair follicle and the diminishing of the hair inside, leading to the eventual disappearance of the follicle. "The last few sparse hairs fall out, and nothing sprouts." Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone produced as a byproduct of testosterone, is a common hereditary cause of this condition. DHT sticks to the follicle before gradually shrinking it. It most frequently occurs in the front of the head, crown, and temple.

  • Too Much Stress
  • Hair loss can be caused by severe psychosocial stress. The condition known as telogen effluvium, common in women who have recently given birth or undergone major surgery, shocks hairs into entering the "resting" phase, during which they all fall out at once. Patients with this condition typically experience rapid thinning of the hair along the temples. Finding ways to reduce stress is essential, whether through meditation, yoga, working out at the gym, or choosing a mantra.

  • Eating Habits
  • For healthy hair, protein is essential. "Fish, poultry, lean meat, and legumes are all excellent sources. Iron is also crucial since low iron levels can cause anemia, exacerbating hair loss. The good news is that this hair loss is reversible with the right diet and supplements." Getting enough iron and vitamin C is crucial for preventing iron shortage and hair loss. Although there is conflicting research on the benefits of adding supplements of these nutrients to your diet, deficiencies in zinc, biotin, and selenium are also linked to hair loss. Consult a nutritionist or healthcare provider if you're considering changing your diet.

  • Dandruff
  • Another unexpected culprit? Dandruff. "Inflammation can cause excessive shedding as flaking accumulates or if the scalp itches and scratching follows. Because people don't use their dandruff shampoo frequently, it is frequently observed. Easily resolved with an anti-dandruff solution that includes zinc pyrithione, which fights dandruff, in a nourishing formulation designed for daily use."

  • Hair Care Routine
  • It's another way to keep your strands healthy. Avoid pulling styles like tight ponytails and updos. Never towel dry excessively because this causes breakage. Stop over-styling and blowouts, which irritate the scalp.

Types of Hair Loss

  • Male Pattern Baldness
  • Men who have male pattern baldness experience hair loss on their scalps. It occurs throughout a man's lifetime, particularly in his later years, as his hormone levels shift. For millions of men, hair loss is a normal aspect of aging but cannot be very pleasant. Hair loss that occurs suddenly or unexpectedly can occasionally signify a more serious health issue that may require medical care. Androgenetic alopecia, another name for male pattern baldness, typically develops later in life due to fluctuating hormone levels. Medication, laser and light therapy, and hair transplants are among the forms of hair regrowth treatment.

  • Female Pattern Baldness
  • Women are less likely to lose their hair than men fully, but thinning is rather common. Doctors classify three types of female pattern baldness:

    Type I:
It occurs when a slight thinning around the hair part begins.

    Type II:
The portion widens, and the surrounding tissue thins further.

    Type III:
It has a see-through area at the scalp's top and is thinned throughout.

Female pattern baldness can be hereditary, an unintended impact of drugs or medical procedures, or hormonal changes brought on by pregnancy or menopause. Women may first notice symptoms of hair thinning in their 40s, 50s, or later. Hair thinning is less common in women in their 20s.

Natural Hair Regrowth Treatment Options

It can be difficult to manage hair loss or thinning, and not all hair regrowth treatments may be effective.

Developing new hair might not be feasible if you have a certain form of pattern baldness or a medical condition that can cause hair loss. While attempting to regrow hair, some people have found some natural remedies to be successful. Here is our list of the top 7 natural remedies for hair regrowth.

  • Massage
  • Combining scalp massage with hair oils and masks can stimulate the scalp and increase the hair density.

  • Aloe Vera
  • Hair loss has been treated with aloe vera, a trusted product, for a long time. Additionally, it conditions hair and calms the scalp. It can lessen dandruff and open up hair follicles that may have clogged with too much oil.

  • Coconut Oil
  • The fatty acids in coconut oil, known as lauric acid, permeate the hair shaft and lessen protein loss from hair. You can apply coconut oil before or after washing your hair, depending on your hair type. You can apply a leave-in treatment the night before or for a few hours before washing your hair if you have oily hair tendencies.

  • Fish Oil
  • Since omega fatty acids are rich in minerals and proteins, consuming them might help your hair from the inside out. Antioxidants and omega supplements assist in increasing hair density and diameter. It lessens hair loss as well.

  • Onion Juice
  • Patchy alopecia areata is an autoimmune disorder in which the body assaults the hair follicles and results in hair loss in diverse places of the body. Onion juice has been demonstrated to cure this condition and encourage hair growth successfully.

  • Rosemary Oil
  • Rosemary oil is widely used to promote hair development and prevent hair loss. Rosemary oil has been found to promote the growth of new hair in addition to being able to fix androgenetic alopecia.

  • Lemon
  • You can use lemon juice and oil because studies have shown that they both enhance the growth and quality of hair. Rub some fresh lemon juice on your hair and scalp before showering. The lemon juice can be diluted and used in a hair mask.

When Should I See a Doctor?

Many lose between 50 and 100 hair strands per day. Even though this may seem like a lot, it is little compared to the 100,000 hair follicles on your head. It's important to consult with your doctor if you notice that you're losing more hair than usual, particularly if other symptoms like fatigue, anxiety, itching, and mood swings accompany the hair loss.

Make a plan and stick to it if you want to fix the look of your hair. Use your imagination and combine the cures in any way you see fit. Remember, those hair loss treatments can take a few months to produce obvious benefits.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle will help your hair baldness treatment strategy and make way for a successful hair treatment. Discuss medications or procedures with your doctor if natural methods don't work. You can visit the nearest AHS clinic to consult an advanced hair specialist.

It took me 1 Year to decide whether I wanted to go through with the hair restoration procedure using a Natural Looking Hair piece. I did a lot of research and consulted with many people who had done the procedure.

I was convinced to go ahead due to the information session / in-depth knowledge and the excellent customer service skills of Sanjay- the manager.

I did the procedure 1 month ago and I can honestly say that it was the best decision ever. Advanced Hair Studio provides the best quality for the Hair Pieces. The staff takes the time to understand what you are looking for as a customer. They style your hair based on your facial structure and I must truly admit that their stylists are pure Artists! My favourite stylist is Mohamad from Lebanon. He does magic with his hands and I am always thrilled with the new styles/ suggestions he provides.

I must admit that AHS is on the more expensive side if you were to consider the other competitors in Dubai. However, it is all worth every penny spent! You will not regret it.

Do not over think it. Just go ahead an do the procedure. You will evolve into a whole new person! Believe me! :-)

I started losing my hair in my mid-twenties and in spite of trying all sorts of treatments it gradually got worse and worse. By my late twenties I started cutting my hair short. Whenever I tried to grow it, it used to look a mess and was impossible to style because of my receding and thinning. I was looking at doing a hair transplant for a while, but I kept delaying it in hope that there was some alternative.

When I was in my mid-thirties I first came across AHS. I was a bit skeptical but I thought I’d find out what they could do. I was expecting a sales pitch but what I learned about hair loss and hair restoration from them was presented in a straightforward and logical way, without lots of medical terminology. They take time to explain the root cause of the problem and explore all the different treatments.

I decided to go ahead with the treatment and as it turns out, having AHS fix my hair was one of the best decisions I ever made. I still cannot believe how good my results are. I just wish I’d done it 10 years earlier rather than wasting so much time (and hair!). I would urge anyone who is thinking of doing something to check them out.
