What Are the Home Remedies to Prevent Hair Fall

  • 4 min. read

Hair fall can be caused by a plethora of reasons, and may also act as the first sign or symptom of an underlying disease. Apart from hair fall, there are other hair related issues that one may have to deal with.

These issues may include grey hairs, split-ends, hair breakage, and hair thinning. Advancement in medical sciences has led to the innovation of many hair treatments, which have made it possible for people to achieve the hair they have always wanted, but many medical treatments come with their own set risks.

For people who are looking to avoid the risks associated with hair loss medications or hair loss treatments, there are some useful home remedies for hair fall and regrowth they can try to get their hair back.

Start Your Hair-Regrowth Journey

Following are some things people need to keep in mind while searching for a viable solution to curb their problem of hair loss:

Causes of Hair Loss

Plethora of factors like genes, stress, trauma, medications, infections, etc., can lead to hair loss. Therefore, getting a proper medical diagnosis should be the first step in anyone’s hair growth.

Extent of Hair Loss

Unless it’s caused by an illness, hair loss usually follows a pattern, which is unique for both men and women. The gradual, genetically induced hair loss in men, is termed as Male Pattern Baldness (MPB), which is also the leading cause of hair fall in men.

Under MPB, hair loss progresses in seven stages. It starts with thinning of hair at the hairline and/or crown region, which gradually leads to formation of a horseshoe pattern of baldness. In women, hair loss starts with hair thinning at the top of the head.

This is followed by gradual hair loss, which radiates from the middle part line. In contrast with male pattern baldness, women seldom experience receding hairline.

Choice of Hair Loss Treatment

Surgical (hair transplantation) and Non-surgical (hair oils, hair wigs, etc.) are the two main types of hair loss treatments.

Different causes of hair loss require different treatments. Moreover, progression of hair loss also dictates over the availability of hair loss treatments.

Therefore, a proper medical diagnosis is the primary requirement people should fulfil before opting for a solution for their hair loss. However, there is a chance that even after treating the underlying cause, people may still end up with bald spots.

In such scenarios people should consult hair loss professionals to get a proper blueprint as to how they can get their hair back.

Natural Home-Remedies for Hair Loss

Natural, home brew medications have become a new fad amongst people who are facing hair related problems. Natural remedies like aloe vera and fenugreek, are excellent options if you are facing hair issues like hair thinning or hair breakage, but these remedies have shown little to no effect when it comes to solving advanced stages of hair loss and baldness.

Following are some of the ways people incorporate natural remedies to bring life back to their hair:-

Diet

Diet plays a huge role in a healthy lifestyle. If managed properly, it can prevent or even reverse many medical issues. Understanding the importance of a healthy diet, many people are following the route of adding certain food items to their daily intake to prevent hair fall.

Consistent intake of all the required nutrients and minerals has shown positive signs when it comes to prevention of numerous health problems, including hair loss. Some food products that promote hair regrowth include eggs, berries, green leafy vegetables, fish, etc.

  • Eggs are amongst the few super foods that contain high amounts of protein and biotin-two nutrients that are known to promote hair growth.

  • Berries like blueberries, blackberries and cranberries, are loaded with antioxidants and vitamins that promote hair growth. Antioxidants, in particular, keep hair healthy by stopping free radicals from disrupting the flow of nutrients to the hair follicles.

  • Green leafy vegetables like spinach contain high amounts of folate, iron, and vitamins like vitamin A and C. All of these nutrients are required for optimal hair growth. Vitamin A helps in regulating the production of sebum, which is a naturally secreted hair lubricant.

  • Fatty fish, like salmon and mackerel are an excellent source of omega-3. These fatty acids are linked heavily to hair growth.

  • Nuts are a convenient and healthy source of Vitamin E, Vitamin B, zinc and essential fatty acids. Research has shown that deficiency of any of these nutrients can lead to hair loss.

Hair oils and masks

Exposure to pollution, UV-rays, and stress, can make hair brittle and lifeless. Oils and masks are some of the tools people can use to get healthy hair. Different oils and masks are used for different purposes. Following are some of the most popular hair oils and their uses:-

Argan oil: Considered to be the best remedy for dry or frizzy hair, Argan oil is rich in essential fatty acids and vitamin E. It helps to prevent split ends and hair breakage by making hair softer and more manageable.

Coconut oil: Hailed as the king of all oils, coconut oil can be used on all hair types. It helps to rejuvenate hair, and also prevents dandruff and infections.

Melon seed oil: This oil is loaded with omega-6, which helps to boost hair growth, Vitamin B2, and vitamin C. Melon seed oil is recommended for sensitive skin and scalps, as it is milder compared to other oils. It is also suitable for use if you suffer from medical conditions like dermatitis or psoriasis.

It took me 1 Year to decide whether I wanted to go through with the hair restoration procedure using a Natural Looking Hair piece. I did a lot of research and consulted with many people who had done the procedure.

I was convinced to go ahead due to the information session / in-depth knowledge and the excellent customer service skills of Sanjay- the manager.

I did the procedure 1 month ago and I can honestly say that it was the best decision ever. Advanced Hair Studio provides the best quality for the Hair Pieces. The staff takes the time to understand what you are looking for as a customer. They style your hair based on your facial structure and I must truly admit that their stylists are pure Artists! My favourite stylist is Mohamad from Lebanon. He does magic with his hands and I am always thrilled with the new styles/ suggestions he provides.

I must admit that AHS is on the more expensive side if you were to consider the other competitors in Dubai. However, it is all worth every penny spent! You will not regret it.

Do not over think it. Just go ahead an do the procedure. You will evolve into a whole new person! Believe me! :-)

I started losing my hair in my mid-twenties and in spite of trying all sorts of treatments it gradually got worse and worse. By my late twenties I started cutting my hair short. Whenever I tried to grow it, it used to look a mess and was impossible to style because of my receding and thinning. I was looking at doing a hair transplant for a while, but I kept delaying it in hope that there was some alternative.

When I was in my mid-thirties I first came across AHS. I was a bit skeptical but I thought I’d find out what they could do. I was expecting a sales pitch but what I learned about hair loss and hair restoration from them was presented in a straightforward and logical way, without lots of medical terminology. They take time to explain the root cause of the problem and explore all the different treatments.

I decided to go ahead with the treatment and as it turns out, having AHS fix my hair was one of the best decisions I ever made. I still cannot believe how good my results are. I just wish I’d done it 10 years earlier rather than wasting so much time (and hair!). I would urge anyone who is thinking of doing something to check them out.
