As you grow older, it is natural to have a receding hairline, hair loss and hair fall. Even the existing hair strands become thin and wispy. This condition called androgenetic alopecia is a universal condition that affects millions worldwide.

However, due to increasing pollution, lack of care and poor lifestyle choices, the condition may exacerbate or even appear early in life. The more we ignore it, the higher are the chances that the condition might get worse.

What might start as a few balding areas might get bigger and end up making the whole head bald. Doctors and cosmetic experts are reporting that increasingly people in their twenties and thirties are coming forward with complaints of baldness.

Research shows that more and more people are opting for hair transplantation as a treatment option. Various hair transplant clinics provide positive results in no time. Doctors across the world have been performing hair transplant from the beginning of the 1950s.

Needless to say, the procedures have now become sophisticated and minimally invasive. One of the most popular ways of hair restoration is FUE hair transplant or Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE).

This blog deals with the various pros and cons of FUE hair transplant and why you should opt for it if you are looking for a hair transplant.

What Is the FUE Hair Transplant?

A hair transplant is a procedure in which hair transplant surgeons extract hair follicles from the donor area and transplant them in the balding part of the scalp, which is known as the recipient site.

FUE is a surgical method that expels singular donor hair or follicular units, ‘each one in turn’ from the back side of the head (contributor harvesting site).

This technique for hair transplantation is a negligibly intrusive tiny incision methodology that includes utilizing little round punches (1.0 mm) to expel the individual follicular units and after that embedding them into the scalp in the thinning beneficiary regions of the head.

In FUE hair transplant, individual hair follicles are extracted and then implanted in the recipient areas, unlike Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT), where plastic surgeons remove strips of skins with hair follicles and then plug it on balding areas.

FUE treatment is better than FUT treatment as it gives a clean finish without any signs of extraction.

Is FUE Hair Transplant Permanent?

Follicular Unit Extraction FUE treatment is considered to be permanent as once the transplanted area has healed, the hair follicles cannot be shifted back. However, some people may need to undertake multiple hair transplantation sessions before they can see desirable results.

It may so happen that some may experience hair loss even after the best FUE hair transplant treatment. The transplanted hair may fall off and new hair may start growing in weeks, filling up the balding areas.

Does FUE Hair Transplant Work?

A FUE hair transplant costs more than over-the-counter hair restoration procedures and is considered to be more effective than those. Whether or not FUE hair transplant works depends on several factors:

  1. FUE hair transplant takes time to fully show results. Anywhere between 10 to 80 percent of the transplanted hair will take about three to four months to fully grow back.

  2. Like regular hair, the transplanted hair will thin out over time. This might require you to opt for another round of hair transplant later in life.

  3. People with dormant hair follicles may experience less effective treatment than those with active follicles.

  4. People who are experiencing thinning or partial balding are good candidates for a FUE hair transplant. It may not work for people experiencing widespread hair loss over the scalp.

  5. People who are suffering from cancer or any other medical condition that results in loss of hair might have to treat the root cause of hair loss before a transplantation procedure.

Do Hair Transplants Last Forever?

A hair transplant does not last for the entire lifetime of a person. You may have to visit your plastic surgeon for a touch-up later in life.

Pros and Cons of Fue Hair Transplant

Like any surgery, FUE hair transplant also has its share of pros and cons. In any case, the Pros of FUE hair transplant outflank its Cons and this is the reason for its enormous popularity throughout the world. Here is a brief correlation of points of interest and hindrances of FUE hair transplant:

  • There are no stitches involved in the surgery.

  • It avoids leaving long direct scars in the donor area.

  • Dotted scars that are framed because of FUE are far less unrecognizable than the direct scars offered by FUT.

  • It does not cause much bleeding.

  • It offers quick recovery with the least inconvenience.

  • It can be performed to regrow hair on scars also.

  • It gives the specialist surgeon an opportunity to take out only the chosen hair follicles.

  • It requires a ton of time and expertise of the specialist for graft extraction.

  • Transplanting an extensive number of grafts may require numerous sessions.

  • It costs more than traditional FUT methodology.

  • There are very few specialists who master the technique since it is a troublesome one and must be performed well by skillful and experienced specialists.

The FUE hair transplant process is a simple and viable treatment for those who suffer from hair loss. The modern-edge method has made it conceivable to have hair surgically restored with least reactions. It is an important achievement in surgical hair restoration that has made hair transplantation significantly more prominent among those facing hair loss.

There is no doubt that FUE hair transplant in Dubai is an effective treatment that you can opt for, especially if you have thinning hair.

It took me 1 Year to decide whether I wanted to go through with the hair restoration procedure using a Natural Looking Hair piece. I did a lot of research and consulted with many people who had done the procedure.

I was convinced to go ahead due to the information session / in-depth knowledge and the excellent customer service skills of Sanjay- the manager.

I did the procedure 1 month ago and I can honestly say that it was the best decision ever. Advanced Hair Studio provides the best quality for the Hair Pieces. The staff takes the time to understand what you are looking for as a customer. They style your hair based on your facial structure and I must truly admit that their stylists are pure Artists! My favourite stylist is Mohamad from Lebanon. He does magic with his hands and I am always thrilled with the new styles/ suggestions he provides.

I must admit that AHS is on the more expensive side if you were to consider the other competitors in Dubai. However, it is all worth every penny spent! You will not regret it.

Do not over think it. Just go ahead an do the procedure. You will evolve into a whole new person! Believe me! :-)

I started losing my hair in my mid-twenties and in spite of trying all sorts of treatments it gradually got worse and worse. By my late twenties I started cutting my hair short. Whenever I tried to grow it, it used to look a mess and was impossible to style because of my receding and thinning. I was looking at doing a hair transplant for a while, but I kept delaying it in hope that there was some alternative.

When I was in my mid-thirties I first came across AHS. I was a bit skeptical but I thought I’d find out what they could do. I was expecting a sales pitch but what I learned about hair loss and hair restoration from them was presented in a straightforward and logical way, without lots of medical terminology. They take time to explain the root cause of the problem and explore all the different treatments.

I decided to go ahead with the treatment and as it turns out, having AHS fix my hair was one of the best decisions I ever made. I still cannot believe how good my results are. I just wish I’d done it 10 years earlier rather than wasting so much time (and hair!). I would urge anyone who is thinking of doing something to check them out.
